Collection: Meet Emily Castillo
I’ve been creating from my dreams for as long as I can remember. Some have been beautiful, others unsettling. The nightmares have inspired me just as much as the peaceful ones. Since childhood, those vivid nighttime worlds have stayed with me, quietly shaping the way I see the world and create.
When I look at the world around me, I notice what often goes unseen to most. Faces hidden in tree bark, faces in the floor, entities in the sky, and entire miniature worlds woven into nature everywhere I look. These quiet discoveries have become the foundation of why i feel pulled to create.
Each piece begins with whatever speaks to me, whether it’s traditional materials or something found in nature. As I create, the artwork slowly reveals itself, layer by layer, until it feels like a place that has always existed, waiting to be found.
By the time a painting is complete, I often feel it carries a conversation between what is seen and unseen, the familiar and the unknown, the worlds above and below. My hope is that each piece invites you to slow down, look closer, and discover something meaningful of your own
